Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

InkWeave ("we", "our", or "us") is a macOS and Windows application for writers. Our Windows version is now officially available. Our contact email is de4252311@gmail.com.

2. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service and improve the public website:

• License key — Used solely to verify your subscription status via our payment processor (Lemon Squeezy).
• Purchase information — Your email address and payment details are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store payment information.
• Local app data — Your projects, characters, and story content are stored locally on your device only.
• Website interaction analytics — On the public InkWeave website, we may use Microsoft Clarity to understand page visits, clicks, scrolling, and session interactions so we can improve navigation, pricing, documentation, and download flows.
• Anonymous aggregate license verification statistics — We may count verification requests by date, country/region, platform, and result to monitor availability and improve reliability. These counts do not include your license key, full machine code, IP address, email, writing content, or records that identify individual users.

We do not collect:

• Your writing content or story data
• In-app usage analytics or behavioral tracking inside the InkWeave desktop application
• Device identifiers beyond what is needed for license verification
• Any data through the local AI assistant (all AI processing is on-device)

3. How We Use Your Information

The license key you provide is used exclusively to:

• Verify your subscription status with Lemon Squeezy
• Issue a cryptographic JWT token stored locally on your device
• Periodically revalidate that your subscription remains active (checked each time you open InkWeave; if you are still offline after 48 hours, we temporarily downgrade your plan to the Free tier—features are limited until you reconnect to the internet and restore eligibility).
• If regional restrictions prevent connecting to certain servers, your subscription verification may be affected. Use a VPN or proxy so InkWeave's verification servers can validate your license successfully; you need at least one successful internet connection within every 48-hour period.
• Maintain anonymous aggregate verification statistics so we can diagnose regional connectivity issues and keep subscription checks reliable; these statistics are not used to track individual app usage.

4. Local AI Processing

InkWeave's AI writing assistant runs entirely on your device using a local language model (LLM). No text you input into the AI assistant is transmitted to any external server. Your creative work is yours alone.

Optional GGUF model weights are downloaded from Hugging Face repositories listed on our Third-Party & AI Models page. Connectivity requirements may apply in some regions—see that page and Section 3 of this policy.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Lemon Squeezy — Our payment processor. When you purchase a subscription, Lemon Squeezy collects your payment and contact information according to their own Privacy Policy.
• Microsoft Clarity — Website analytics and session replay for the public InkWeave website. Clarity may collect interaction data such as clicks, scroll depth, page visits, approximate device/browser information, and other usage signals according to Microsoft's privacy practices. • Cloudflare Web Analytics — Privacy-focused, aggregate website traffic and performance measurement. It does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint individual visitors. Cloudflare Web Analytics documentation.

We use a Cloudflare Worker as a secure intermediary to communicate with Lemon Squeezy's API. This intermediary does not log or store your license key or personal information.

Microsoft Clarity is used only on the public website. It does not collect your local InkWeave projects, manuscripts, characters, or desktop app data.

6. Cookies and Analytics Preferences

Cloudflare Web Analytics measures aggregate traffic and performance without using cookies, local storage, or individual fingerprinting. It is therefore not controlled by the optional analytics preference.

Microsoft Clarity is optional, non-essential analytics. It is not loaded unless you allow website analytics. If allowed, Clarity may set first-party and third-party cookies to connect page views and session interactions.

We store your analytics choice in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every page. You can review or change that choice at any time through Cookie settings in the website footer. Rejecting optional analytics does not restrict access to any page, download, documentation, or subscription flow.

Google Analytics 4 is not currently enabled. If we add GA4 or another materially different analytics provider or purpose, we will update this policy and the consent version before activation so visitors can make a new choice.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your license token is stored locally in your macOS application data directory (~/Library/Application Support/com.inkweave.app/). This file is protected by your macOS user account permissions.

InkWeave does not maintain an application account database or a server-side database of your manuscripts, characters, or story data. Our Cloudflare Worker processes license verification requests as described above, while the third parties listed in this policy retain data under their own policies and applicable law.

8. Data Retention

InkWeave does not retain your manuscripts, characters, or story content. Anonymous aggregate license verification statistics may be retained to monitor reliability without identifying individual users. Lemon Squeezy retains purchase and billing records, and Microsoft and Cloudflare retain website service data, according to their respective policies and applicable legal obligations. Local app data remains on your device until you uninstall the application or delete it manually.

9. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data directly controlled by InkWeave.
• Manage subscriptions, billing information, payment methods, and license keys through the Lemon Squeezy Customer Portal: Open Customer Portal

10. Children's Privacy

InkWeave is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app or our website. Continued use of InkWeave after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
